I’ve mentioned Llamas with Hats before. While I wasn’t looking, the people at Filmcow went out and completed the saga.
The verdict? Eh. The combination of humor and disturbing off-screen violence of the first few hit the spot, but they gradually cranked up the disturbing while sidelining the humor.
Not the choice I would have made.
Here are all twelve for your viewing pleasure.
Three is still the funniest.

I checked out of Family Guy when it stopped being funny, which was shortly after the OJ Simpson episode. But I must admit, this shroomed-out Brian visiting his own personal hell is nicely creepy.
The moral: Drugs are bad, M’kay?
A Very Calvin & Hobbes Christmas
Maybe I’m easily amused, but something about the absurd, over-the-top, off-screen violence tickled my funny bone. Given that each of these have more than a million hits, once again I may be a wee bit behind the curve.
“That’s what forgiveness sounds like. Screaming, and then silence.”
“I should probably mention that I filled our luggage with orphan meat.”
Cab Calloway, Betty Boop and dancing skeletons. What more could you ask for?
With Halloween almost upon us, and ten days before the annual Fark scary story thread, I thought it would be a good time to put up some posts for the season, no matter how vaguely related. First up is “Hittin’ The Trail For Hallelujah Land,” one of the earliest Merrie Melodies (AKA Looney Tunes) ever made, and the first of the infamous “Censored Eleven” cartoons, which, due to racial insensitivity and general political incorrectness, have never been released by Warner Brothers on DVD.
“Hittin’ The Trail For Hallelujah Land” is now in the public domain. What makes it seasonal is that there’s a graveyard and skeleton dance sequence in it.
I missed this Cracked cartoon on Bad Logo Design when it came out earlier this year, but I’m posting it now because I can’t stop cracking up at Nazi Jim’s Panzerotti. (Some NSFW language.)
In other news, I’m still recovering from Armadillocon and various other personal upheavals, so blogging may be light until I manage to get a few ducks marching in the right direction…
You may remember me raving about Black Dynamite, Michael Jai White’s awesome parody of low-budget 70s Blaxpotation films.
You may be pleased to know that the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim is doing Black Dynamite: The Animated Series. Click on the link to see the pilot. The show itself is set to premiere in 2012.
Here’s a list of the 21 Worst Cartoon Characters Of All Time. They got number one right. The rest of the list is more mixed, but I haven’t seen all the cartoons on it.
In the interests of gathering a more complete sample, here’s a poll for the worse cartoon character of all time. Some are from that list, and some I came up with on my own. Add any additional nominees in the comments.
