I have no idea who Kuuhaku Marinus is, though he seems to reside in Mexico and his ideogram (空白磨理成) seems to translate as “Blank Grid.”
Here’s a pleasant cover of Slowdive’s “Machine Gun”:

Enjoy yet another cover of Slowdive’s Catch The Breeze, this one from Canadian shoegazer outfit The City Gates with guest Krissy Vanderwoude:
This is off an all-digital compilation homage of Slowdive covers called Just For A Life, which I’ll have to listen to more of…
Fixed
Someone took a lot of obscure/unreleased Slowdive songs, put them together and made them even more echoey/dreamy.
Another Rachel Goswell side project. Really more Shoegaze tinged retro ambient lounge, maybe somewhere between Malory and Echodrone at their softest.
When in doubt, post a Slowdive cover…
Slowdive put on a great show at Stubb’s on April 28. One of the surprising things about it was how much of a rocker “No Longer Making Time” is live. There doesn’t appear to be a good video of that available online, so here’s a pretty good version from their Asheville, NC on November 17, 2017.
Note: There’s a little glitch at the end, where it looks like the person recording the video forgot there’s a little coda at the end of the song and turned their cell phone video off for a few seconds…
In celebration of Slowdive playing Austin next week, here’s a four song live set including:
The Sunday dose of Shoegaze got put aside while I was doing my taxes, but now that’s done, I hope to catch up on a few things.
Yeah, another live Slowdive song. I’ve been busy with a new dog, so I haven’t had a chance to go trawling for new shoegaze bands.
Hat tip to Andrew Wimsatt for alerting me to this.
I’ve been on a Slowdive kick since I heard the new album has coming out, and it way exceeded my expectations for it.
Here’s a live performance for Pitchfork that features both new and old songs, including “Slomo,” “Catch the Breeze” “Slowdive,” “Star Roving” and “Avalyn.” For some reason the music doesn’t actually start until 7:15 into the video.
Slowdive’s new self-titled album
Buy it.
Here’s a live version of “No Longer Making Time,” one of the new tracks:
The studio version is even prettier.
I’m watching new episodes of MST3K and listening to a new Slowdive album. I’ve obviously died and gone to 1990s Heaven…
