{"id":4694,"date":"2011-05-04T17:59:10","date_gmt":"2011-05-04T22:59:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lawrenceperson.com\/?p=4694"},"modified":"2011-05-04T13:45:09","modified_gmt":"2011-05-04T18:45:09","slug":"dear-renaissance-austin-hotel-please-make-up-your-freaking-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lawrenceperson.com\/?p=4694","title":{"rendered":"Dear Renaissance Austin Hotel: Please Make Up Your Freaking Mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A while back there was <a href=\"http:\/\/impactnews.com\/northwest-austin\/103-impacts\/10624-northwest-austin-impacts-november-2010\">an announcement<\/a> that &#8220;Blue Ribbon Restaurant opened in the Renaissance Austin Hotel, 9721 Arboretum Blvd.&#8221; Indeed, the corporate mothership mentioned the Austin version yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.therenaissancelife.com\/blue-ribbon-restaurant-menu-expands-to-more-renaissance-hotels\/\">while crowing<\/a> that the same menu will be trotted out to different Renaissance hotels around the country.<\/p>\n<p>Fine. Dandy. Except for the fact that Renaissance Austin Hotel doesn&#8217;t seem to have ever heard of it, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotels\/hotel-information\/restaurant\/aussh-renaissance-austin-hotel\/\">it isn&#8217;t found on their list of restaurants<\/a>. Calling the Renaissance and asking for the restaurant gets you <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotelwebsites\/us\/a\/aussh\/aussh_pdf\/AUSSH_BanderasDinnerJanuary2010.pdf\">Banderas-A Texas Bistrot<\/a>, which I&#8217;ve eaten at before, and which I found most notable for its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtime.net\/~stainles\/log0906.html\">glacial serving pace<\/a>. And when I called the Renaissance to ask if they had a Blue Ribbon Restaurant, the girl answering the phone said no. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, Blue Ribbon Restaurant sounds like the sort of place I would like to try, especially since <a href=\"http:\/\/armadillocon.org\/\">Armadillocon<\/a> will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawrenceperson.com\/?p=2248\">in the Renaissance<\/a> again this year.
