A Richard Matheson TV Obscurity

Here’s a science fiction TV show episode, “Young Couples Only,” I’ve never heard of, based on a Richard Matheson story, and starring…Peter Lorre!

One reason I haven’t heard of it was that it was part of the Studio 57 anthology series, which aired on The DuMont Television Network, the ill-fated network that folded before I was born.

Like almost everything else in the world, it’s on YouTube:

Yeah, I posted this one on my blog a couple of weeks back, along with a few other relatively obscure Matheson adaptations, in the weekly OVERLOOKED A/V stack. And, as I noted, STUDIO 57 was originally on Dumont, but as Dumont collapsed throughout 1955, Heinz (hence the number in the title) continued to sponsor it in first-run syndication for another season or so. I suspect this one was one of the syndie episodes.
