Despite the name, this Shoegaze outfit hails from Los Angeles. Hope you like practical lights and glowing, superimposed lyrics.
“Directed by James Franco.” Really?

Getting harder to find any Halloween or horror-themed Shoegaze, and anytime I find a Darkgaze or Blackgaze song I think I like, the Cookie Monster Metal vocals come in to ruin it.
So here’s Sleep Party People, who seem to be at the intersection of post-rock, chillout, prog rock and Shoegaze, and the bunny masks on display here in “I’m Not Human at All” make it just odd enough to use for the Halloween offering.
I always thought this musical number from Corpse Bride was pretty cool, and I still do. It also has more than enough dancing skeletons for Halloween:
For your Sunday dose of Shoegaze, here’s The Denzels “Self-Talk”. They sound a bit like classic-era Jesus and Mary Chain, with maybe a bit of early U2 thrown in.
Since Saint Marie records is releasing Secret Shine’s Singles 1992-1994, I thought it would be a good time to throw up some of their work, so here’s “Falling Again.”
Yeah, another live Slowdive song. I’ve been busy with a new dog, so I haven’t had a chance to go trawling for new shoegaze bands.
Hat tip to Andrew Wimsatt for alerting me to this.
I liked last week’s Linda Guilala track so much I bought the album, so this week’s track is “Uroboros,” which is also off Psiconáutica.
Here’s Spain’s Linda Guilala (a band, not a woman) with “Monstruo” off their album Psiconáutica, which I might have to pick up, as the tracks strike me as a tasty mix of Shoegaze, classic analog synth and just a dash of 8-bit.
(Hat tip: Sounds Better With Reverb, which seems to have stopped updating after the end of 2016.)
This is more Dreampop than Shoegaze, but it’s pretty, so here it is.
I’m guessing De Montevert hails from Sweden, based on email addresses and umlauts.
To be honest, this isn’t so much a Shoegaze band as a single guitarist showing how to do shoegaze and performing all the parts himself via mixing, loops and digital Frippitronics.
