Another book from that Mysterious Benefactor, and another small press book from the 1950s.
Smith, George O. Path or Unreason. Gnome Press, 1958. First edition hardback (“First Edition” stated, as per Currey), a Near Fine copy with the start of slight creasing at head and heel, slight bend at head and heel, trace of wear to a couple of points, with characteristic toning of pages for Gnomes of this era, in a Fine- dust jacket with the barest trace of darkening to top edges of flaps. Currey, page 459. Chalker/Owings, page 204. Kemp, The Anthem Series, page 263.

Another book from that Mysterious Benefactor, and another small press book from the 1950s.
Leinster, Murray. Operation: Outer Space. Fantasy Press, 1954. First edition hardback in a first state blue binding (as per Chalker/Owings), a Fine- copy with slight bumping at heel and a trace of rubbing to band at heel, in a Near Fine dust jacket with slight creasing and abrasion wear at heel, slight fading to red lettering on spine, tiny trace rubs to front, and a few small spots of dust soiling to white rear cover; overall, a very nice copy. Currey, page 268. Chalker/Owings, page 162 (“The first interstellar journey, financed by making it a TV spectacular”). Kemp, The Anthem Series, page 47.

Centipede Press’ latest book is pitched firmly at my Zelazny collection:
Zelazny, Roger. Roadmarks. Centipede Press, 2026. First limited edition, #358 of 400 numbered copies signed by introduction and glossary author (and Zelazny bibliographer) Christopher Kovacs and artist Pascal Blanche, a Fine copy in a Fine dust jacket, still in publisher’s shrinkwrap. Zelazny’s novel of a man that can drive between different times, places and timelines. Supplements a signed first (via Bob Pylant), an unsigned first (probably a Half Price Books find), an unsigned UK hardback first (via Bob Pylant), and a signed Del Rey first paperback edition that I bought new and had Zelazny sign for me at the 1994 World Fantasy Convention in New Orleans, the only time I met him in person.
Note: The white streaks at bottom are just reflections off the shrinkwrap.
Though this is already sold out from the publisher, I will have a small number of copies available in the next Lame Excuse Books catalog (November/December-ish).

Another Borderlands Little Book:
Onions, Oliver. A Little Tan Book of Terror. Borderlands Press, 2026. First edition hardback, #463 of 350 signed, numbered copies signed by editor (and publisher) Thomas F. Monteleone (Borderlands: “we only print 350 copies but if anyone has matching numbers above 350, we make sure they continue to get it”), a Fine copy in decorated boards, sans dust jacket, as issued. Short story collection. For some reason, I got the impression that Onions (like so many writers in David Hartwell’s The Dark Decent, which is where I first encountered him) was a 19th century writer, but all these stories appeared between 1910 and 1922, and Onion himself didn’t die until 1961.
I will have a small number of copies of this available in the next Lame Excuse Books catalog (Novemberish).

First edition hardback, #463 of 350 copies signed by editor Ben Keefe (Borderlands: “we only print 350 copies but if anyone has matching numbers above 350, we make sure they continue to get it”), a Fine copy in decorated boards, sans dust jacket, as issued. Collection including eight stories, of which “In the Penal Colony” is probably the most famous.

London, Jack. A Little White Book of the Wild. Borderlands Press, 2026. First edition hardback, #463 of 350 copies signed by editor John DeChancie, a Fine copy, sans dust jacket, as issued. Five stories, the only one I’ve which I’ve already read is “To Build A Fire.”

This set is the second set in this Centipede Press signed/limited prestige hardback reprint series of Dick’s books, following The Cosmic Puppets, Dr. Futurity, and Vulcan’s Hammer.
Dick, Philip K. Eye in the Sky with The Man Who Japed with The World Jones Made with Solar Lottery. Centipede Press, 2025 (stated; actually not released until 2026 due to a signature sheet problem). First editions thus for Eye in the Sky, The World Jones Made and Solar Lottery, and the first U.S. hardback edition for The Man Who Japed, each #92 of 300 signed, numbered copies, each signed by Michael Swanwick, and the respective artists, each Fine copies in Fine dust jackets (with Mylar dust jacket protectors!) and a Fine slipcase, still in shrinkwrap (though it has been opened to the front to correct the signature sheet problem), with #92 sticker affixed to shrinkwrap. All four of these supplement first hardback editions of each (Gregg Press for Eye in the Sky and Solar Lottery (plus the Rich & Cowan true hardback first until the title World of Chance), Eyre Metheuen for The Man Who Japed (plus the Ace Double PBO)), and Sidgwick & Jackson for The World Jones Made). Not seeing this on the Centipede Press website, so it may have been sold out upon publication.

I tried to order copies of this right after Howard told me about it, way back in 2022, before it was even announced. It finally came out in January.
Waldrop, Howard. Masters of Science Fiction: Howard Waldrop. Centipede Press, 2026. First edition hardback, #13 of 500 numbered copies signed by Waldrop, introduction author Paul Di Filippo, and artists Jim & Ruth Keegan, a Fine copy in a Fine dust jacket, still in shrinkwarp. Massive 1,048 page compilation of Howard’s short work, including pretty much all his great stories, and even a sampler of his early work. Bought from the publisher, though I got far fewer signed copies than I ordered.
I will have a very small number of unsigned copies in the next Lame Excuse Books catalog (hopefully in May).

I picked up the first four volumes of these at a dealer discount, but never picked up the last three for some reason (maybe a periodic bout of unemployment).
Anderson, Poul. The Collected Short Works of Poul Anderson Volume 6: A Bicycle Built for Brew. NESFA Press, 2014. First edition (stated), a Fine copy in a Fine dust jacket. Bought for $13.04.
Now I just need to track down Volumes 5 and 7 cheap…
