Roger Ebert Reviews Monsters

He liked it.

Just like Howard and I liked it.

If it seems like I’m pimping Monsters a lot, it’s only because I am. It’s the sort of independent film that doesn’t have enough of an ad budget for people to hear about it without word of mouth. So I try to do my part to encourage people to see it if it’s playing in their area. Consider that a recommendation, and remember it for Hugo and Nebula voting.

  1. I caught its last showing in Austin and thought quite highly of it. My review of it is up at SF Signal. Even my wife, who is not normally that fond of genre movies, would like to see it.

By the way, it’s available for rental on Amazon on Demand.

It’s available for rental through iTunes as well. Haven’t watched it yet, though. Was thinking about doing it tonight. They already have my money, so that counts for something.

Saw it thru Comcast On Demand. Moderately impressed. Like what the director did with very little money. Some serious geography problems tho. Aztec/Mayan/Inca ruins right across the border from the U.S?

Enjoyed this very much…but wish they had written in some kind of reason for the absence of cellphones. It seems to be set in the present or future…so the need for them to use payphones when they needed to make a call was kind of distracting; is there any current technology more ubiquitous than cellphones?
