Sturgeon, Theodore. The Worlds of Theodore Sturgeon. Ace, 1972 (stated; actually 1977). Paperback original, second printing (cover price of $1.50 rather than 95¢, as per ISFDB), a Fine- copy with traces of wear, slight foxing to inside covers, and a small wrinkle at heel. Signed by Sturgeon.
Library Edition: Signed First Edition of Thomas Disch’s Triplicity
Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016I have a fair amount of Disch, some of it signed, but didn’t have this title until I bought this from the Fred Duarte estate:
Disch, Thomas M. Triplicity (omnibus edition of Echo Round His Bones, The Genocides, and The Puppies of Terra). Nelson Doubleday (SFBC), 1980. First edition hardback thus (as per the ISFDB, i.e. 3816 printed at the bottom on the back flap of the dustjacket and gutter code K10 on page 408), and first hardback edition of The Puppies of Terra), a Fine copy in a Fine- dust jacket with several 1/16″ creases at head and wear at points. Inscribed to Fred and signed thrice by Disch (as was his custom for this title).
Like media tie-ins, omnibus editions are among the last titles I pick up, but this is one I lacked (and I didn’t have any edition of either Echo Round His Bones or The Puppies of Terra).

Wednesday, July 27th, 2016Neal Barrett, Jr. was another writer I knew, and for whom I have almost all his published fiction except for the media tie-in works. So here’s one I picked up from the Fred Duarte estate:

Library Addition: 4 Signed George Alex Effinger Planet of the Apes PBOs
Tuesday, July 26th, 2016I knew George Alec Effinger and had collected most (but not all) of the books before his untimely death in 2002. His four Planet of the Ape books (based on the short-lived live-action CBS TV show) were among the ones I lacked. (Media tie-in works are something I only pick up when they’re incredibly cheap, or when I’ve already picked up everything else.) These four are all from the estate of Fred Duarte.
