April 30th, 2017The breathy vocals of Aimee Nash, half of Los Angeles-by-way-of-Australia duo The Black Ryder, merit obvious comparison to Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval. Here they are with “Seventh Moon,” which reminds me a bit of SPC ECO’s “Tweet Fields at Night” and is about 97% pure beauty by weight.

I don’t agree with all their rankings (Manos: The Hands of Fate is much too low), but they’re generally in the ballpark.

March 20th, 2017Here’s a book I found out about too late to pick up before prices went through the stratosphere, so I went ahead and settled (for now) for an Ex-Library first I could afford:
Rajaniemi, Hannu. The Quantum Thief. Gollancz, 2010. First edition hardback, an Ex-Library copy with pocket and stamps, in a Fine-, protected dust jacket with a bit of curl at head. Presents well. Bought off eBay for £19.99 plus shipping.
