Here’s all the books I added to my library in 2025, some 204 of them. This list is dominated by a whole lot of Robert E. Howard, first from a large bulk purchase from a collector at the beginning of the year, and then someone selling off someone else’s collection of books on Facebook later.… Continue reading Library Additions for 2025
Author: Lawrence Person
Lawrence Person is a science fiction writer living in Austin, Texas. His short fiction has appeared in Asimov's, Analog, Postscripts, Jim Baen's Universe, Fear, and several anthologies. He also edits the Hugo-nominated SF critical magazine Nova Express, and runs the Turkey City Writer's Workshop. His non-fiction has appeared in National Review, Reason, Whole Earth Review, The Freeman, The World & I, Science Fiction Eye, The New York Review of Science Fiction, and Slashdot.org. He owns such a large library (mostly science fiction first editions) he had to buy a two-story house to put it in, and then adopted a golden retriever to drag him out of his house on a regular basis. He also makes a mean batch of salsa.
Library Additions: Two Howard Waldrop Items
For some reason, I never managed to pick up the chapbook version of “The Ugly Chickens” while Howard was alive, so I jumped on this copy when I saw someone was selling one on eBay. Plus a bonus Waldrop-related item many of his fans will find obscure. Waldrop, Howard. The Ugly Chickens. Old Earth Books,… Continue reading Library Additions: Two Howard Waldrop Items

First edition? hardback, (sold as such, though its a… Continue reading Library Additions: Two Signed Zelazny Hardbacks

An odd chapbook find from my trip to Houston: Lethem, Jonathan. K is for Fake. McSweeney’s Quarterly, 2000. First edition chapbook original, a Fine copy. Been a while since we did served up a slice of SPC ECO, so enjoy “For All Time”:

Library Addition: Signed PBO of Elizabeth (Ann) Scarborough’s The Drastic Dragon of Draco, Texas
Elizabeth Ann Scarborough is a writer I previously had one book for, The Healer’s War, because the Nova Express crew recommended it back in the day. But I found a signed copy of another Scarborough book I was intrigued about (mainly due to the title) quite cheap, so I picked it up. Scarborough, Elizabeth [Ann].… Continue reading Library Addition: Signed PBO of Elizabeth (Ann) Scarborough’s The Drastic Dragon of Draco, Texas
